1 - HISTORY OF THE AMERICAS TEACHER (IB)
Colegio Jordán de Sajonia is seeking a teacher for the History of the Americas subject within the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
Professional Qualifications:
Degree in Social Sciences (Anthropology, Sociology, or Political Science), Bachelor's in Social Sciences, Bilingual, work experience within the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
English Level: B2 - C1
Responsibilities:
- Teaching the IB subject for year 1 or year 2 of History of the Americas, supervising IB monographs of year 1 or year 2 students.
- Planning and executing classroom lesson plans, attending IB and Department meetings.
- Developing didactic strategies to approach specific History of the Americas topics and encourage critical understanding among students.
- Integrating innovative methodologies to promote active student participation in debates and analysis of relevant historical documents.
- Assisting and guiding students in research projects aligned with the IB program.
Collaborating with colleagues to create and maintain a curriculum coherent with IB standards.
- Proactively communicating with parents about students' progress and academic performance.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience as a Social Sciences or History of the Americas teacher in the IB Diploma Program (DP).
2 - SOCIAL AND GLOBAL STUDIES TEACHER
Colegio Jordán de Sajonia is seeking a passionate and committed Social and Global Studies Teacher to join our educational team.
Educational Background:
Professional in Social Sciences (Anthropology, Sociology, History, Political Science) or related fields.
Bilingual proficiency.
English Proficiency: B2-C1.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Social and Global Studies to sixth, seventh, or eighth-grade students, delving into historical and social events that shaped the 20th century and define the 21st century.
- Develop and execute tailored lesson plans accommodating students’ needs and comprehension levels, integrating interactive and participative methods to foster critical thinking and reflective analysis.
- Address contemporary and relevant topics, facilitating debates and discussions on diverse cultural, political, and social perspectives.
- Integrate technological tools and resources to enrich learning experiences, utilizing digital media, multimedia resources, and interactive platforms.
- Promote civic awareness and civic engagement through community projects and extracurricular activities related to Social and Global Studies.
- Collaborate closely with the department to design an innovative and cohesive curriculum, attend meetings, and contribute to ongoing subject development.
- Establish effective communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on academic progress and holistic student development.
- Potential leadership in groups and activities fostering integration, tolerance, and inclusivity within the school environment.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in Social Studies in English is required.
